Stethoscope Hand Grip Effects on HOCM Murmur?

what is the effect of handgrip on hocm murmur ?

does handgrip increases SVR or preload?

Handgrip differentiates Mitral insufficiency and AS murmur.
Handgrip will increase SVR ...and softens HOCM...Since it also increase cardiac output so flow in left side heart increases so obstruction in hocm overcomes and murmur softens...


Hand grip does not increase venous return and so decrease in preload..check in these link...
