Default Just got my CK result. Extremely disappointed.

So I'm an IMG and just graduated a few months ago. I'm American, and took step 1 around 2 years back (July 2014) and score what I THINK was around a 217-220.. I remember not really studying that hard for it, just wanted to get it out of the way.

I decided at the time that I'd focus WAY harder on Step 2CK which I feel I did. I read Master the boards multiple times, crush the step, step up to step 2 and usmle secrets (even though it's the same as crush the step). I did U-world 3 times and kaplan went through about half of them.

I got a 254 on one NBME, a 265 and then a 273. UWSA gave me a 240 something (can't remember the exact number now).

So to my result.. I had some high hopes but after finishing the exam, I was a bit discouraged having always narrowed down most questions to two answers.

I just got my score back and got a 234. It's surprising expecially considering my performance bands were all either borderline-->high with the exception of endocrine and prevention, surveillance and health maintenance.

I would like to match in Internal medicine and had always dreamed of derm but that probably won't happen. Luckily, I have an extraordinary connection at a certain hospital thanks to millions of dollars being donated by someone in my family. However, I doubt those scores and a connection are enough. I'm pissed. I really am. I feel like 234 is a bad score. Someone be truthful...

Appreciate your time. Good luck to every one.

well, you know what... you might just get the spot. dont worry about your scores, just work hard and focus on attaining the skills that will make you an effective doctor.

Thanks man. I'll have to work extremely hard the next few months before residency to get some more solid LORs. I appreciate your words of encouragement.. Made me feel a lot better.

if you do step3, chances of matching improve because your number of IVs increase!
I personally know a few people with your step 1 and step 2 scores and got matched this year! in IM
so, Godspeed!!
You ll do it

The way UWSA predict the scores is amazing...did your NBMEs were ONLINE?
can you tell more about your exam experience?
