Warning! Inital & accurate test 4 crohns and u.c.

HI guys

what is the best initial and accurate tests for the following:

crohns & ulcerative colitis?

im finding lots of contradictions amongst UWORLD and MTB2:confu sed:

dont let mtb confuse you... just go with uworld.

to answer your question, in a stable patient you would first order basic labs (e.g., cbc, lft, electrolytes, esr, crp) and imaging to assess severity, and stool studies (e.g., cultures, c. difficile toxin testing) to rule out other conditions.

then after that you would order more specific tests such as endoscopy with biopsy... which is the most specific test for crohn's. although essential for ulcerative colitis, its not that specific. however, neither are antibody tests, so i doubt they would ask you to chose between the two.
