Eye Amaurosis Fugax versus Central Retinal Artery Occlusion (CRAO)

Hi all:

except the retinal whitening and cherry-red macula, which are characteristic of central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO).

How can we differentiate whether it is amaurosis fugax (next step: we check carotid artery Doppler) or CRAO (next step: give 100% oxygen and actetazolamide)?

Thank you!

Nothing more than fundoscopic finding and reversal of sx in amarosus
I think they definitively gonna tell that vision is recovered after x min when describing amarosus otherwise we cant consider it as a dx if sx did resolve within min to hour& the ddx is stroke vs CRAO
