GIT Ureteric Colic-induced Ileus?

Hi all:

Can someone please explain why in case of ureteral colic, we might have ileus?

i think its from pain induced sympathetic activation --> ileus
or may be the stones within the ureter is inducing a localized inflammation that irritating the peritoneum --> ileus
