I e-mailed ECFMG regarding this and they asked for a letter from my dean stating that I graduated and will be issued the final medical diploma in April.
And now the problem arises. My dean told me he cannot give a letter saying I "graduated" since the college does not determine that. Instead he can give a letter saying that I have completed all the requirements to be issued my degree and that the provisonal degree certificate is valid until them.
Will this be accepted by ECFMG? Is anybody else in the same position? Any information regarding this will be helpful. Thank you in advance.
I had to send the same letter. ecfmg had told me that they are very specific about this and the content should exactly match what is in their website. I don't think ECFMG will accept the letter if it does not say you have graduated but who knows. See if you can convince the Dean to give you the letter that matches the format that ECFMG wants (this was a real pain for me as well but after days of stalking the Dean, he caved and gave me the letter). Or just send what you are given and pray that its accepted. If its not you'll have no choice but to take the letter in the format they want anyways.
