Heart Endocarditis prophylaxis + penicillin allergy!

A 56-year-old woman is scheduled to undergo a root canal procedure. Medical history is significant for mitral valve infective endocarditis treated 10 years ago. She has no other known medical problems. She is allergic to penicillin and developed hypotension and respiratory failure the last time she was given this antibiotic.

Which of the following is the most appropriate endocarditis prophylaxis for this patient?

(A) Amoxicillin, orally
(B) Ampicillin, intravenously
(C) Cefazolin, intravenously
(D) Clindamycin, orally
(E) No antibiotic prophylaxis

Any dental procedure which causes bleeding in a patient with a h/o endocarditis need antibiotic prophylaxis and Clinda is the DOC in pts with penicillin allergy.
