Default Success story of an ancient IMG

Hi guys, I am a newbie on this forum.but have learnt a lot from others' experiences. So I guess I owe this forum a little of my experience with step 2ck.
I graduated in 2000, and ,as one could expect had low confidence, high uncertainty, less ( almost no )peers. Also have a family with 2 kids, and had to do all the chores ,the women of the house normally does. .
Decided to go for step 2 ck first of all. Although I wouldn't recommend that .u get plenty of step 1 ques on step 2 ck.
I started studying 6 months before my exam day, after being out of practice for about 4 years. Started with Kaplan notes and uworld .for the first few months, I could only put in 4-5 hours in day.slowly increased to 6 and finally 8 -9hrs in last 2 months. Did Kaplan thrice, u world twice and a third time only the marked and wronged questions. My overall Uworld score , 2nd time was 82% I was high on confidence .
Then came self assessments.
Nbme 7- 214. Confidence crushed!postponed exam
Thought of practicing more with Kaplan q bank. It was overwhelming. Many rare diseases, I had no idea about. Left it soon.

Nbme 4-242, gathered some courage and went for exam 4 days later.

Real exam- was the big daddy of all. Brutal, lengthy, content was beyond anything I had ever practiced or expected.was totally disheartened and hopeless. Started thinking of failing, while doing the exam.felt like an utter disgrace after the exam.
Next 3 weeks, started reading about other people's experiences, and how u could expect a positive result , despite feeling awful about your performance.
thought of alternative careers ( didn't find any though)
Finally the results - pass @232
Not a great score but not bad either.....I am more than happy.and hope anyone who reads my story , gets some encouragement . U can do it if you refuse to quit. Put your mind into it and u won't be disappointed ! Go for it!
