Hi Suchitra , hope you are doing well ..
I haven't done CK yet , but based on what I see from IMGs around me ..
Most of them recommend doing step 1 first ..

My friends who were in their last year of medical school , they did CK first .. some were happy with the score and some weren't ..

Now as I prepare for CK .. there are a lot of times where I had to go to Step 1 FA to understand some points ..

But If you decide to do CK before step1 , don't hesitate to study biostat , all biochemistry diseases , ALL pharmacology ( especially side effects ) from Step 1

This is my personal advice .. represent only my opinion ..
Ask more people who took both steps and decide later
Best of luck !

The point is in CK u need some basic science knowledge, for ex u need to know pathology or pharm or more importantly u need to know pathophysiological mechanisms. So at the end of the day it is up to u really. If u feel confident in ur concepts then go on with step 2CK, but if u feel like u need to build some concepts or improve on them, then my advice would be to start with step1. In the end it is a personal choice i guess. There is no right or wrong answer
