Default UWSA vs NBME 4

Hi everyone,

So I need advice especially from the recent test-takers comparing difficulty level of UWSA, NBME 4 and the real exam.

I did UWSA about 2 weeks ago and got a 216. I then did corrections, some more UW and took NBME 4 a few days ago and scored 231. I am surprised at the huge jump and I am actually also confused. Of course I would be happy with a 231 on the exam but I have read people say UWSA is more predictable. I took NBME 7 about a mnth ago and got 206 then did the Free 150 a few days afterwards and got 74%.

I am just trying to get where I stand.

Do recent takers feel the difficulty level is more like UWSA?
Thank you.

Honestly with the recent changes no one can give a clear answer , it was difficult to asses before and it's even more difficult to asses now with recent changes . The total number of exam questions has been reduced , so most likely the grading scales has been adjusted to some degree as well. UWSA recently reduced the number of questions to match the change and has also adjusted the grading curve ... So until more people have taken the exam and scores start to come back, no one can help answer your question .

From what i gathered , people have been scoring lower than expected on UWSA even American grad student , so your not alone .. I think with a few weeks of extra hard work on topics that you're really deficient in will get you the score you are aiming for .. Good luck

Most people say that the way of grading the exam of course is NBME style and you get 50 questions there, so you should try to compensate for the less number of questions in the real exam.

But usually many people say that the way the questions are displayed is like Uworld, more difficult than NBME, which sometimes is pretty straight forward.

Again, if you could plot your categories in NBME vs Uworld and see a pattern, differences in each category or even number of questions wrong in each, hopefully that could give you some light in what is going on.
