Star Don't despair

Although it's very discouraging score but that's not the end of the story.

You still have many opportunities to rectify your situation.

Here's some important points:

1) Get over 95 in Step 1
2) Do USCE
3) Do research and publications
4) Make connections
5) Dedicate yourself to a specialty (volunteer, articles, rotations, ...etc)
6) Do Step 3
7) Pass CS from first attempt

If you do these things, your CK score will be diluted and you can get into residency. Do not despair at all.

USCE = United States Clinical Experience, this can be in the form of research, externships, observerships, clerkships, ...etc see our dedicated forum

As for the Green Card, of course that's another plus in your application. it will get you into programs that do not provide visa sponsorships and it will set you away from the IMGs that need Visa

Actually USMLE exam is unfair , I worked hardly for long time and did the exam from a year and I found very very hard questions and very long with average lines 15 lines per question and I failed in it.
