Under the topic of infective endocarditis there are two criteria for its diagnosis.
1- Major Criteria: includes positive blood culture and an abnormalo echo.
2- Minor Criteria: that constitutes fever, a predisposing cardiac lesion such as IV drug abuse, vascular phenomena, immunologic phenomena and microbiologic evidence.
In the las one of minor criteria i.e., microbiologic evidence there is mentioned that positive blood culture not meeting the major criteria. What does this mean since positive blood culture is also included in major criteria?:notsure:
