Arrow HIV pt with dysphagia

when a hiv pt comes with dysphagia give 1 - 2wks of oral fluconazole . and see for improvement as the mcc of esophagitis in hiv is candidal oesophagitis .
If no improvement then do endoscopy , biopsy

other causes in hiv are hsv , cmv

cytomegalovirus oesophagitis - linear long shallow superficial ulcers

Herpes simplex - multiple small well circumscribed ( small and deep )

Good luck friends
