USMLE Books My choice of CK Prep Books

Hey guys,

Just finished step 1.

About to start clinical rotations.
Will do about 10 months straight to finish all my cores, then take 2 months off next summer to write the step2 and apply for residency in sept.

I was thinking of studying whilst I rotate lol
So whatever rotation im doing, I'll study that from step 2 materials.

So the books I'm thinking of getting are:
Kaplan Lecture Notes for Step 2
Master the Boards
First Aid for Step 2

later, I'll get UWorld.

How does this all sound? I haven't had much time to research step 2 so far so I don't really know much about it.

Any and all feedback would be much appreciated,
Thanks!

Kaplan lecture notes, MTB step 2 CK for everything, except Ob/GYN and Peds, for those, use MTB step 3. For step 2 ck, MTB is better than FA.
If you have time, do kaplan qbank, if not, UW is more than enough. Your step 1 prep, has prepared you for this exam. I would advice you to read for CK in your spare time during your clinicals.

look man, for psych, i believe that the lecture notes are ok, and for biostats and behavioral just see your notes from step 1, and the videos from step 1.

For surgery, i think mtb 3 is the closest to lecture notes, i would read lecture notes, and just check if mtb is missing that chapter, just take note which chapters are missing, and go back to them in your review. For Peds and Surgery, i think this last two, they are incomplete in any review book.

To be honest only internal medicine is complete in MTB CK, it is beautiful in that book, i think the only things missing are thyroid cancer types, and the glomerulonephritis types, and also the lung cancer types. That's it.

will not hurt, but they are not famous around the regular IMG's -- if you have the time and you like them, they will add, but as i said before, not necessary.
