Default transvaginal sono or transabd sono??

Hi all:

Kaptest QID mooo983: a lady with placenta previa. after we stabilize her with the ABC, then why we do not direct proceed to transvaginal ultrasound? Kaptest says we should do transabdominal ultrasound before we do transvaginal sono, but isnt it redundant to do transabd since we can do a more accurate transvaginal sono??

Any antepartum hemorrhage case is considered Placenta previa unless proved otherwise.....
so any kind of pelvic exam is contraindicated in case of antepartum hemorhage until we rule out placenta previa......
so on the same basis ,we do not go for transvaginal sonogram.we do transabdominal sonogram first to rule out placenta previa.

but First step in antepartum hemorrhage is always to stablize the patient first ie. A,B,C......
