Question which Qbank to use for early prep (subject by subject)?

Hey guys,

I just started rotations and am "studying" alongside kind of. I figure I should be doing questions too. I dont want to use UW yet because I dont want to waste questions by having them subconsiously memorized during the 2nd pass of it.
So what qbank is 2nd best to UW?
I'm not really studying hardcore, just revising a few things when I feel is necessary as right now my rotation is psychiatry which isn't too bad. But i guess I should do some questions too.

Honestly, I have no idea what to expect from step 2 ck, there isnt much info out there.

My plan is study each subject as i'm doing that rotation, when I'm done my courses I'll start intense study and do UW and nbmes and stuff.

Any and all help would be appreciated, thanks!

kaplan qbank may be second best but info given is wrong at times so make sure you double check it with MTB or kaplan stuff. gl.

Hey Nick When do u plan to take Step 2 Ck ? :-) I would say the information in MTB 2 and 3 is not much tested in UWORLD and UWORLD should be used as a TEXT book in the beginning. I did KAPLAN for Paeds and then moved on to UWORLD. It did help but not that much! There are a lot of WTF type of questions in KAPLAN and the Questions are so vague. And You would also like to kill the Authors for the some of the answers given.

Default Question sources

Usmle world encompasses almost all Step 2 HY concepts, I completed it twice before starting the Kaplan Qbook.
The Kaplan Qbook has some new (in addition to what was covered in UW) & difficult concepts in it, but using it as a follow-up to Uworld it helps to see things worded in a different way & the explanations in the text are very to the point.

Hope this helps

Hi ,
I am too preparing like you.Kaplan Q bank will be the next best one .I finished some subjects like IM,OB-GYN,surgery from KLN,i have got kaplan q bank recently, i did only few Qs from it,they r good .I have learnt that for step 2 ck we have to get exposed to different clinical scenarios early which ll be possible only if we do more Qs .This one ll surely be a launch pad for UW. Many forum members feel that Q book may not be that useful.
