Smile Bharadw Step 2 Journey 254(86)

Total preparation time 3.5 months (with a gap of 1 month) .. started Step2 CK preparation mid March after Step1 but had to switch gear to Step2 CS by April first week as I was able to get Step2 CS date of May1.

I just flipped through some KLN for two weeks before Step2 CS thing happened.. so I would say real deal started in May. Since I did not have time started straight with Kaplan Q Bank subject wise. I thought it really works.. scored 60% on it and finished it in 5 weeks.

Took Kaplan diagnostic exams .. The exams are good in one sense, they make you realize efforts required to sit and solve 8 blocks in 9 hrs ..

After Kaplan tests etc I started with UW Q Bank, Timed Random mode. Scored 75% .. Used to solve 5 blocks a day .. In parallel tried to read MTB 2 and 3 but I dont think I had any energy left by the time I finished UW blocks .. each block used to take approx 3 hrs (1 hr to solve, 2 hrs to review) ..

10 days to go - Started reviewing my own notes and MTB. Took following tests -

NBME4 - (9 days to go) - 257 (wanted to grab the bull by the horns so went straight to 4)
NBME2 - (7 day to go) - 237 (I found form2 more complicated than 4 or may be I was over confident)
UWSA - (4 days to go) - 252 (fair enough)
NBME3 - (1 day to go) - 256 (I was mentally done with it so was really not paying attention but still scored assuring 250+)

I think exam was fair (except the drama at the end.. please read my post about the error report that I received, as you all know I received my score today so yes it was all straightened but it was really stressful)

I think UW is more close to exam than Kaplan. BUt strongly recommend Kaplan QBank as study source. Worked for me.

Glad that its all over now .. on to Step3 now

Thats about it. I would be happy to answer any question that you may have.

good luck !!

Congrats Bharadw!!!
Thanks so much for your post.
How long did you take to finish the UWorld?
How did you find the surgery and obs/gyn section of MTB-2? In addition to KLN, I am planning on using MTB-2, was wondering whether or not i will need to supplement MTB2 with surgery and obs/gyn from FA?

5 blocks (220 Qs a day) takes around 10 days to finish UW ..

I did IM from MTB2 and rest from MTB3 ..again it was just a review so I did not put much emphasis on it but OB and PED were good in MTB3 (as everyone suggests here on polls that MTB2 is good for IM only)

Sorry did not use FA so cant comment
