Default old woman with DVT after orthopedic surgery

Hi all:

Kaptest m000842: a clear question stem with DVT, why we cannot proceed to give patients heparin. Instead, we still need to do doppler first even though given the clear clinical diagnosis?

To confirm the diagnosis and know the extent of the clot especially in a post-op setting.

I think DVT is not very critical emergency condition that need emergency treatment with the drug ((which have increase risk of HIT)) before confirming the diagnosis .
