Default just took step2 ck frustrated.

-Hello I just took step2 ck today and I am worried I am going to fail.
my experience
step 1
-just read kaplan and usmle world and scored 234/84 on the real one.
STEP 2-i ONLY DID USMLEWORLD qbank I am rushing for application.and my average was 61 % firat time timed, random(with our reading any thing, just step 1memory).
-took NBME 4 and scored 510/232..which motivated me and decided to take the tes.
-the real exam was so different than usmleworld and NBME ...i was second guessing almost half of the exam.and I coudnt get enough time I cant get for 5 qeustions on 1 block and for 2 questions each on other blocks.am I going to fail........I mean does the NBME predict at all?if so how could the exam feel so difficult?please Idaes.

Default Exactly my point!

That's exactly what I've been wondering! I see people posting that they failed or got low scores, but had decent NBME/UWSA scores. And the reverse. People that had slightly below average scores, but did great in the real thing.
It really scares me that we don't know if we can trust these self assessment tests, and it's not because they're bad; I think it's because of the changes recently made to the CK.

So, what can we really rely on to make sure that we will pass this test?
I personally can't count my overall UW Qbank %, because I used it along with my study material, or is it reliable in spite of that?

What can we expect then??

Hi GERD!

Congrats on finishing CK! I took the exam recently as well. Boy was it a toughie. I think we are in similar boats. I had a 62% on UW, and that's basically all I used for test prep. We also got similarish scores on Step 1 (I got a 230).

To answer your question: I'm not sure what pre-test would correlate best with your real exam score, but this is a really good Q. However, a reliable indicator for how you did on CK may be how you did on Step 1 (excluding any extenuating circumstance). Do you agree? Also, don't forget that you used UW, which really is gold for this exam (speaking from my experience today!)

In short: I'm sure you passed!! It seems like most people (maybe even especially the ones that ROCK it) think they failed right out of the gate and even continue to worry until they get their score at which point everyone and their dog around them says: "See, I knew you would do well!"
