Smile mis.med88 CK Experience (8/31/12)

The time was limited on the exam, I always finish blocks with at least 10 minutes to spare (even on most diagnostics) and I felt I was constantly looking at the clock, and skimming question information to move to the next question so I wouldn't run out of time.

I had 6 blocks of 45 questions, 1 block of 43 and 1 block of 35.
My exam included 3 dug ad questions, 3 heart murmur sounds, 5 EKGs, and I felt it was 80% Internal medicine.
I also felt the exam was much much much more difficult than any of the diagnostics.

Good luck to every one studying

There isnt any questions in the tutorial. But i highly recommended everyone to take the time to look at the examples of what a Drug Ad or Research questions is when in the tutorial. Also test out if your headphones work as well with the testing audios/videos they give!!!!

that is right the exam is becoming UNFAIR , I did the exam on 08/31/12 as well, dont know why are they doing this, I had to skip lot of details in the questions because of the time. I saw lot of Surgery and Internal medicine.

Sorry for the late reply, I've been back in rotations & preparing for the Canadian board exams.
My drug ads were included in the blocks of 45 questions and I was not given extra time because of them in those blocks.
I used Step up to step 2, DIT, master the boards 2, usmle world, Kaplan qbook and Kaplan videos (only for certain subjects in internal medicine & surgery).
I spent 1 month entirely off from rotations preparing but had started Master the boards and usmle World in rotations back in march/april
I'm not quite sure what outside of uworld was helpful...I completed the bank once and took notes...my second round of uworld I did all but 300 or so questions. I also completed nbme 1,2,3 and 4, the uworld diagnostic and the released questions- none of which I thought were in any way a representation of what I saw on the exam...
I wish I could give advice as to how to prepare for the questions asked but I'm not sure myself how I could have felt better going in and coming out of that exam...
Hope that answers some of your questions

@MIss.Med

Thanks for such a detailed reply.

I have heard that UWSA and NBMEs, as of now, ARE NOT AS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE QUESTIONS ON THE 2CK EXAM THESE DAYS(AFTER AUG I GUESS)

YOUR COMMENT ABOVE CONFIRMED MY SUSPICION. THANKS FOR BEING HONEST...
