(A) Toddlerhood is the period of developing autonomy, when the child normally is seeking to establish his or her own identity and to prove his or her own ability. Toddlers want to control and do everything by themselves. They are too impatient and immature to seek or accept explanations. The toddler’s slogan is “me do it.”
