Help Foreign Body Aspiration MTB3 Vs. KLNs

Hey guys

i was reading about foreign body aspiration

in Paeds KLNs page 76 it mentions that: the most common site of foreign body aspiration is the larynx in pt ˂ 1 yr of age, and the trachea/rt main broncus in pt ˃ 1 year of age

while exactly the opposite is mentioned in MTB3 page 346

so which one to follow ??? !!

Both says the same thing. I think you are reading an older version of KLNs which was corrected in the later editions of KLNs.
Anyway, trachea or right mainstem bronchus is the most common site overall as the site depends on the size of the FB.
Quote:
larynx is the most common site of foreign body aspiration in children >1 year of age. In children <1 year of age, think trachea or right mainstem bronchus.
