Kaplan Medical Kaplan Q bank CK. Is it worth ?

Is it advisable to do Kaplan Q bank CK most importantly considering the time factor and the amount of extra relevant information that one would gather from it???
Every book or q bank would add to our extra knowledge, but we are studying to get MD and not doing MD so reading anything that is not required or low yield would only add to stress. So friends is it wise enough to go for Kaplan q bank apart from the mother of all Q banks-Usmle World ???
Best regards.

i did the free block on the kaplan website, & imo its not worth your time or money. the questions are way too hard & on very unimportant topics; the software is buggy as hell, & actual exam questions were nothing at all like kaplan qbank questions. only uworld/ uwsa questions are similar in style to the real exam.

Hi, my advise is , kaplan and U world both are must. Bcz in exam wht my experience was ,questions are more like Kaplan .i dont know abt free kaplan questions but the q bank is good and worth ur time .Bcz exam will nt ask u simple and straight things .Both cover the same topics but the thing is how deep knowledge u get from tht. now in exam they ask u very deep , weird and some points of common sense. Dont concentrate to much on ad questions.hope this will answer ur question.

The only thing I can safely say is that the more quantity of UNIQUE questions you do the better prepared you will be

I did both Qbank and Uworld and I dont regret it

I had asked a very similar question in the past as to is it better to do UWorld twice or to do it UWorld and Kaplan Qbank each time ONCE. I got mixed reviews than and by the means of this thread it also kinda seems mixed. I know it depends on the time and money factor. I decided to stick with doing UWorld twice. Any other suggestions?

Embarrassed Yes

It is worth it if you have the time and money, I was in the high 70s for the world and I started doing Kaplan, the first block I did I got a 55 , it si harder and the cases are longer on average, some friends that took the exam already they say that the real deal fills more like you are on the kaplan qbank.

I have the examn this friday and just got a 240 pn the uwsa.... I was aiming forma 250 but now...... I domt know, am I ready?

UW --> Most of the questions are straightforward. Almost no tricky ones. It just simply tests your knowledge.

Kaplan qbank --> Very, very vague questions. It felt like almost every question is a trick question. Good learning tool but, in my humble opinion, it may cause you to develop some bad test-taking techniques. For example, you'll give more weight to distractors bec. in kaplan qbank, the "distractor" or that small unrelated piece of information is the key to the right answer. In UW, distractors lead to the wrong answer. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what it felt to me.

I started kaplan qbank first then UW. Most of my mistakes in UW in the first few blocks were because I thought they were trying to trick me like in Kaplan. Turns out, UW is straightforward.

Kaplan qbank is a good learning tool, but just be careful.
