Default to take step2ck or not??? help please!!!

hello! I am an IMG, graduated in 2011. I would like to do peds residency.
I took step 1 last year and failed it. I passed step 2cs already. I have my appt for step2ck this wednesday but I am terrified to take it. I have been studying Uworld and MTB for the past 2 months, my score in the qbank is average 60%... I am freaking out right now, I donīt feel the most confident about this test, besides i have the worst cold for the past 48 hours!!!
I am unable to request an extension for step 2ck since i did so already, meaning that if i dont take it iīll have to pay for it again...
My question is:
1. should i take it anyway or prepare more for ck?
2. Do all atempts (failed and passed) go on your record?

I would appreciate your feedback asap!!!! Thanks for the support guys!!!:sorry:

Q2- Answer- Yes it goes on record.
q1- Answer- Sorry cant help you here. You are the best judge of your own capabilities.

What would have I done?!
Try to take NBME,UWSA, Fredd before the exam. These are close Indicators of the exam. Then based on those exams would take the exam. In a confused state, I always like to wait and prepare some more. If I am panicking for no reason, I just try to take a day off or take some benzos.

I do not want to scare you. I WILL pray for you no matter what you decide. You have an attempt in Step 1 and I pray that you SCORE more than the average score of 238 in CK to make up for the attempt.

I agree

Dear Nouman,
ThANK YOU so much for your words of encouragement and advice. I appreciate very much your sincerity.
As you recommended, I think the best thing will be to review more qbanks in order to feel more confident. I am under a lot of pressure right now, and I feel that I will not give 100% of myself if i take it on wednesday.

Thank you for your prayers, that is very sweet of you. I wish you the best of luck too on your journey!!!! Best of luck and success!!!!

letīs keep in contact! take care

Don't take it unless your ready...lots of people make this mistake of rushing it only to come back with a failure....dont put yourself in that position!

As nouman said, take some nbmes and the world exam before even THINKING of taking the exam...its much too important of an exam

In the grand scheme of things 1000 dollars is nothing! I had to do the same for step 1 when i wasn't ready, wasted the money but I'm glad I did it cause i only took the exam when i was ready....of course every bodies situation is different but don't rush to take it just to take it....take it only when your ready

good luck

Np at all. I know you can score pretty high. But do not let your fear control you and everything else will be fine.

DO NOT TAKE IT!!! A failure at this juncture could be a career ender for you, listen to the others advice. Take NBME and UWSA and make sure you are scoring well. I would spend the 1000$ to reschedule and wait until you know you are gonna knock it out of the park and score high. You will need a high CK score to be competitive as IMG. You will do great, just take the time and focus. Take the NBME and then look at where you are weak and really dig in the books for those areas. Also work on your timing, that is the beast of this test
