Default osteomyelitis diagnosis..X-ray or MRI first?

what do you guys think?

(1)MTB 3,pg 6 "although it may take up to two weeks for osteomyelitis to become severe enough to make the x-ray abnormal, the x-ray is still the first test"

(2)KLN surgery,pg 108 "Don't fall for the x-ray option.x-ray will not show anything for 2 weeks.Do the bone scan."

Best Initial test is always an xray.

If you see nothing on x-ray then

go for an MRI. If MRI is contraindicated then go for a bone scan.

Bone scan is only the answer if you want to do an MRI and its contraindicated (says MTB 2)
