Help Scored 211 and 216 in NBMEs, should I postpone?

Hey,
I am new here....but I need some serious advice....I did NBME 4 10 days ago and scored 440 (216)....so I worked on as many of my weaknesses as I could in 10 days (clearly not well enough)
I did NBME 3 tonight and scored 420 (211)!!!....
My exam is in 2 days....should I postpone?

how far are you from your target score? Also, NBMEs are not a good predictor of your real exam (esp NBME 3) from what I gather from other posts. Have you taken UWSA? Can you afford to postpone? If you can, then you should until you get a more desirable score on UWSA

I wanted a 240 at least....i did do the UWSA a while back....but I no longer have access to it....and i didn't think it was that important since everyone seemed to focus on NBME....i honestly can't remember my score 4 it probably cuz i'm so stressed out right now....I can afford to push it back....after doing NBME 3 there are so many topics I feel like I don't know well enough

Not important? Bro this isn't step 1, Uworld is more predictive then NBMEs for step 2...

I didn't know...i'm an IMG....and I graduated in 2008....i've been in pediatrics since....so i'm not 100% familiar with all the secrets of the US system...i did the UWSA over a month ago and was using it as a guide for my weak areas...i don't think I did that well....maybe like 480 (my grandmother passed away the night i did the test so everything from then is a blur)....i pushed my exam back until March 10th....i've gone through usmleworld qbank like 1.5 times....but i did questions over and over so I have no idea what my actual percentage is....and I haven't had it for 6 months so i can't reset it....my first aid is all written out with notes from the qbank....any tips? I think if i extend the usmle bank for another 2 weeks I'll make 6 months to reset it....is it worth it to go though all the question again? Should I do the UWSA again?

Hey,

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. Listen, dont freak out. That's not going to help you. I think you should postpone it for a couple of weeks so you can be more confident going into the exam. I dont think that NBMEs underpredict by 30points, you know? Also, it sounds like you know you need to read up more. So just postpone it.

As far as the UWSA goes. I dont think doing it again will help predict where you are because you're bound to remember some questions. Even if you get just 2-3 questions right just because you've done the test before can skew your average in the overpredicting zone.

If anything, postpone your exam, re-study what you need to, and then take NBME 2. See where you stand and decide whether or not to take the exam right now.
