Help Canceled my exam(low score in UWSA) one night before the real one

Hey Guys:

I just canceled my exam as I get low score in UWSA which is 166 (failed), it was like a shock to me, otherwise I did UW (before UWSA) Randomly and Timed and I got score 83 % from the first time !!!!

My resources were

*MTB 2 & 3
*Kaplan Videos mainly in IM and Psychiatry
* I also did UW offline and wrote down a lot of notes

When I did UWSA...I get a little be panic while I was reading questions, also my big mistake that I did the UWSA one day before my real exam and at the night of exam ...I canceled it

I want to study for the exam again, What's your recommendations ??!

Thanks in advance

I think the biggest mistake is doing an assessment the night before real exam
you have to do it 5-7 days before or 10 is better

you got 83% from the 1st time ,sure it was your first time؟؟؟؟
because with this score u shouldv'e got atleast 700+ on the UWSA and even 800 easily
maybe you panicked while doing your test !!!
do an NBME to know were are you standing ,and to see where is the real problem (was it that test or it was your preparation )
try to work on your weak areas , best of luck

Did you do UW online first and scored 83%?
Or did you do UW offline first, then did UW online? This process will give you a high UW score because many of the questions are repeated.

It's good that you took a UWSA. At least you had a few hours to cancel your exam. Look at your weak areas based from UWSA assessement, then read again your concepts. You may want to consider kaplan lecture notes, or another more comprehensive reviewer (other than mtb2 or 3) for your weak areas. Then do nbme. If you have more time, and can still exert more effort, may be you can consider doing another qbank. Then another nbme at least 10 days before your exam.

The concepts are just a bit juggled up in your mind now. Just a little more push, you'll be able to do it. =)

I did UW Offline first and then UW Online. I think I get panicked because I did UWSA one day before my real exam which is a big mistake ....
I will study again and focus on my weak points

Thanks a lot

I think you didn't read him. He did UW offline and made notes.. and made sure that he gets the questions right if he sees em again. He did well on 2nd time around (83%) on the questions that he have already seen the answers.

Take-home concept matters a whole lot. Well good luck to him.

Try to understand the concepts. Knowing why wrong answer is wrong is as important as knowing why the right answer is right. Hope it helps.

Once you took a Q bank or a self assessment test either online or offline it is not valid any more for evaluation when you retake it. what counts is the Qs you see for the first time.
So my advice is to reread your materials carefully,if you have time listen to kaplan videos(I found MI,obgyn realy good) and reevaluate youself with NBME.
wish you good luck
