Smile Dr. Kakota CK experience (270 score btw)

Well I am mexican and did step 1 last year and got a score on the 250s, now I just received my CK score and it was 270!! Holly ****!! I couldn't believe it, specially since I was going to a lot of crap in my life during the last months of preparation.
Anyway the material I used was Kaplan LN CK and Videos which I watched once, MTB2CK for IM and Psychiatry, Kaplan BS LN and videos (Step 1) for Biostatics and Ethics, MTB 3 for Surgery, OB/GYN and Peds.
I read first the Kaplan LN with videos and took some notes which I wrote on the MTB2CK and MTB3, then I read MTB2CK and MTB3 about 3 times. After that I subscribes for 1 month on UW and finished it in 3 weeks.
My way of approaching UW was simulating the actual exam on timed, random mode, doing 8 blocks of 44 questions each per day, the next day I would review all the questions paying special attention on the marked and wrong ones. I got an overall performance of 91%
The actual exam was a nightmare!! Very long questions, longer than the uw ones, but many concepts were similar to the ones tested on uw. Didn't had time to double check any question and I was falling sleep at the middle of the exam, but this time I brought a sixpack of redbull which gave me all the energy and alertness needed.
I would just want to thank my friends who have helped me survived the hardest time of my life so far, you know who you are and I love you!!

No I didn't do NMBEs or UWSA for step 1 or step 2 ck, I just did the exams when I felt I was ready and knew pretty much everything, plus I am in a pretty tight schedule (CS this month) so I couldn;t postpone my ck if the score predictors were not what I expected. I studied for a total of 11 months, the last month I pretty much didn't study because of personal problems.

In my opinion it is fine what you are doing, MTB2CK covers pretty much every psych and internal medicine subject present on the Kaplan LN except for endocrine and dementias (vertigo is included on MTB3). Surgery and peds are also well covered on MTB3. On the other hand I strongly recommend you to watch the videos on OB/GYN and take notes on MTB3, they are awesome (there are some topics like Twins, Erythroblastosis fetalis, etc. not included on MTB3).

Preventive Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology and Imaging are included in the Internal Medicine Kaplan LN (Use MTB2CK).

I can't answer your question, it depends on your previous medical knowledge and how fast you can learn new stuff.
