Neuro Medial Medullary Syndrome

UW ID 4296 in the explanation of medial medullary syndrome it states that position and vibration are lost on contra-lateral side. So lesions at the level of brain stem would cause this, but at the level of the spinal cord this would not occur (posterior column is spared hence no loss of vibration and position)?
