Question How am i doing?

Hey, I'v completed 26% of uworld, and have a cumulative of only 56% (Test ranging from 50%-66%). I have only read MTB 2 CK one time and thats all. Reading it again now with uworld. Is this an "ok" score or should i be worried?
Im planning to take an NBME when i'm done with 50%, next week. Any advise? suggestions? Im planning on taking the CK first week of August.

Thanks in advance!

I am almost in the same boat..I've completed 60% of uworld..and mtb 2 and 3 one time..i think scores do improve with time..use mtb 3 too even for medicine..i started uworld with 52 percent but now I am in 60's ..sometimes I get in 70's..hoping that it would improve eventually..i think getting 70 percent plus in the uworld would give us a lot of confidence for the exam

Dont worry about your Uworld score so early (I know easier said then done)

Use it as the learning tool its designed to be....as long as your learning from your mistakes thats all that mattesr....use assessments for assessments and qbanks for qbanks

I totally agree with DefeattheBeast. Dont use it as a assessment tool. But use uworld very wisely. First do it subjectwise(topicwise for medicine) in the first read, then do it randomly in the second read, then revise it again in the 3rd read.

I agree with both Defeatthebeast and Nouman.

In the beginning when you do it subject wise, the scores can be pretty bad (dont bother about them) but the orientation and the relevant topics become clear.
If you're not doing it subjectwise the first time, then start doing it. Not only will your score improve but you'll learn better and You'll have a map in your mind as to what you're supposed to cover. Your next read's scores will be higher.

The second read should be random and timed. That gives an exam feel and that is the time where you should start testing your progress. Youll know what you dont know.

The third time should be in the last days preferably so you dont forget any of the basics that you did before.

Every world of uworld is important. memorize it as much as you can.
Goodluck!

@Made4Usmle

Yes! you can read Kaplan. Nothing wrong in acquiring as much knowledge as you can! Reading Kaplan depends on preparation time. If you are going to spend 3-4 months on step2ck, then it may not be a wise choice. But you are going to attempt step2ck in 6 months, then it may not be a bad option.

You can do it timed mixed the second and third time for the real exam. I felt better doing subject wise for two reasons:

1. i made notes and they are orderly because they're subjectwise.

2. if you do uworld subject wise you learn the extent of the subject you're supposed to study. You will know what appears twice or thrice which means its important.

3. a friend told me that people notice more improvement in their percentage the second time after they do it subjectwise. Although that doesnt matter but its a confidence booster.

But its entirely your call. People have scored well either ways.
