Blood Ferritin in Iron Deficiency Anemia

Hello everyone, can somebody please clear my confusion.

MTB says in Fe deficiency anemia, serum fe is low and ferritin is Normal or Increased because ferritin is an acute phase reactant.
Uworld says (id 2877) in fe def anemia both serum fe and ferritin are LOW as ferritin represents body's low iron stores. What should we pick on the exam?

confusion cleared. Mtb says a low ferritin is extremely specific for iron deficiency anemia. Nearly a 'third of patients have normal or increased ferritin' which was written in bold letters so I focused on the increased ferritin part. so basically low serum iron and low ferritin are specific for iron deficiency anemia.
