USMLEWorld Low score in cardiology UW

HI guys.
I did cardio from UW and i am getting a low score in all the test avg around 57%, i was just wondering that is it only me who is getting such a score for most of the people posting in the forum have scores in 70%s so i am worried about this.
I dont know how to improve my cardio.
I did MTB and SU2S2.
Can somebody guide me where am i going wrong
Thanks

Try taking notes as you solve the uworld. Read through every explanation and take notes. Don't rush it. Mtb2&3 don't contain all the concepts, and some background knowledge from step 1 will help. If you do this well, and you are still scoring low, then there's a big problem with your foundation and you need to explore cardiology thoroughly. Look up the Toronto notes and kaplan notes. Goodluck

57% in Uworld cardiology is a pretty good damn score if you ask me...

However if you are not improving then I believe there is something wrong with your knowledge base.. Here there are a couple of things you can do.

  • Watch Conrad Fischer Cardiology videos if you have them + Kaplan lecture notes cardiology section (to build foundation)
  • Use a reference book like cecil medicine or harrison for a quick read of the topics you feel weak in.
  • Re-do your marked and incorrect cardiology questions and trying to figure why you got them wrong and when to apply particular clues etc.

57% is not bad. but I assume you wanna push yourself harder in order to gain confidence to take the exam. What the other 2 guys said is correct, you need to go over your cardiology foundations one more time. when I felt weak in a subject in UW I would spent more time reading the explanations and especially exploring the wrong questions. you will notice that the distractors or wrong answers in a UW questions will be tested later and they will be the right answer. so take more time with uw explanations, dont rush it. If you do this I am sure you will improve. One more thing if you ever feel like in a rollercoaster while doing UW (scoring 90% in one block and the 57% in the next one) Dont worry about it man, that happened to me to and I ended up scoring 251 in the exam. I ended up UW with 76% right. good luck!

if you are having trouble with ecgs and have enough time, i would recommend reading this book.... Rapid Interpretation of ECGs in Emergency Medicine: A Visual Guide. you can focus on the more common topics and leave things out like SA node block. besides ecg, i think usmle world covered all cardio topics on my exam.
