right now i just don't want to think about match,as it is increasing stress and anxiety.m focusing mainly on preparation of ck as it's score matters alot even more than even year of graduation and time of application forwarding so....i don't know m rite or wrong.i did one block today again 68%.yesterday's blocks revision is remaining.

freaking out now..i cant compromise on my ck score..would be giving my exam by mid august only..i know September 26 is late but not too late hopefully..this delay was expected but still I was hoping to get my results before September 15..
and change in question pool.. I remember last year when people took their exam in august they did not have a pleasant experience..
I think we should be prepared for the worst..there's no new source that I can add to my studies now..good luck guys..if you can give the exam before 27 july it would be great..all the best..

tho we all agree we all are worried about the september 25th reporting,

I think now the usmle step 2 ck exam is alot more balanced now. Each block being 42-44 questions now is sure a hell alot better than 42-47 possible questions per block. Even if the last block is 35 questions. Alot of people tend to not be able to do the last few questions in the blocks before. So i think this is going to help alot of people to actually get most of the questions done now.

So the questions are more balanced in each block this time , am i correct?

well i meant we now know what to expect. Who know's if the questions are more difficult now with the latest changes.

I feel that instead of doing 45 questions and such in blocks like what recent exams seem to be showing. Having 42-44 questions seems to be a hell alot easier to complete within 1 hour than 44-45.. with the exception of the last block which had 35 questions typically. But really, nothing wrong with keeping up the rhythm of the 42-44 question scheme were usually use to

I think step 2 CK is all about time management and doing random you can get a feel of the real exam.Good luck!!

Default Late post!

Hi Everyone,

Nice to see some encouraging words for an often discouraging process. Exam was schedule for July 31, but moved back to 22 because of the latest announcement. I don't know if I made the right decision, but here's to trying my best and not screwing myself over . Been studying since the end of May, just upped the anty on the questions this week to a block a day in UW (current average is 64% [random, timed, unused] ). Should be done with KLN by the first week of July, so hopefully after that I'm gonna do questions til I go blind and sweep through MTB2/3 :sorry:. Does this sound feasible? I'm gonna take an NBME this weekend, any suggestions on which form to take?

Default The programs do not look at applications before MPSE is released and this year it will be released on Oct1

http://www.ecfmg.org/eras/applicants...ents-mspe.html

Since ERAS submits MPSE by Oct 1 to the programs so do u think that we are safe if we dont take the exam by july 27th

i dont know if a great score in ck will compensate for the delay in application.i'm trying to convince myself its going to be ok....the no. of interviews will probably decrease but if atleast your score stands out..you are probably covered.
wishful thinking!
so..for now...focus on the score guys!

currently my uworld average is about 71 percent second time through. doing timed random and unused. When i was doing the qbank first time through it was back in september to june. Since then i reseted it and been scoring around 65's to 80's. average being 72-76 this week.

I think i just lost focus during this exam, in my nbme i scored the lowest in rheumatology yet in my usmle world its my strongest. But none the less, gotta hit the mtb more and go over the main concepts.

Hi! Is there any reason most of you are starting off with nbme 3? Is it considered one of the easier ones? I thought mostly people just did nbme 2 and 4. And now maybe 6. Any advice on which nbme's are the best if you were to only do 2 of them. Thank you

haha i think its just because were doing each exam around the same time. People say 2 is the easiest, 3 is hard, 4 is very hard, But i have no idea what peoples opinions are on nbme 6 however.

Anyone can gauge how hard UWSA is for step 2 ck?

Then maybe 6 is the hardest? lol Well just because its new, maybe its more predictive or realistic of the actual exam. Who knows, i find nbme's to be really hard and full of weird questions. But then again they predicted score so close for step 1.
Thanks Im still not close to taking one yet. I guess i'll take it once done with uworld first time.

Last couple days have been slow for me, I think its the burn-out phase. Not absorbing anything and Uworld score has taken a plunge. Went from average scoring 80% to barely making it 60%. I think I need to take a break from questions for a few days. I was doing 3-4 blocks daily. Will try to rebuild momentum slowly. You plan like you will give it your 110% on a daily basis, but sometimes your body (and mind) don't wanna cooperate.

This is second time through qbank yet i feel un easy about getting so many questions right! Do you guys think its time to switch to another qbank like kaplan's or should i just complete my 2nd round through this qbank and leave it at that?

Default Hey guys!!

I used this probably a lot when I first began my prep. Anyways I am on the same boat as the rest of you. My exam was originally scheduled for August 5th but that whole thing about delaying the results till sept 25th killed me! So I am now taking it July 22nd :/ tomorrow I take the Uwsa. Hope you guys are killing it! I used MTb 2 and uworld! I took some stuff out from Kaplan for Paeds and a little of obs/gynae. Not much. Praying MTb nd uworld does the trick! Lol

Good luck man! Hope for the best!

Today finished my Cardiology from MTB2, I wanted to get MTB 3 cardiology done as well but 50 pages is alot to read lol! T-Minus 30 days till my exam! Starting to get a little freaked out but hey! A little anxiety only makes us work harder! Aiming to get my first read of both mtb 2 and 3 done by the end of the week.

bought the kaplan qbank to use as my test qbank! Hopefully all the uworld questions will help me solve the puzzles that is from kaplan and nbme!

probably start off with nbme 2 as the first test to take. I hear the USMLE is very similar to NBME 4 and 6 however.

Default Uwsa

I got a 236 on it. Coulda done a lot better made some very silly mistakes!!! Hahaha hopefully I can pick up on that and work a bit better. My gynae obs psych was weak but that was because I made very dumbfounded mistakes. Nonetheless I'm back on MTb 2 doing gynae obs and questions on uworld. I always had about 5-7 mins left after each block on the Uwsa. Won't be taking any nbmes, people say they are useless. But if you do want to take one badly go for the form 4 one. Anyways back to the books. Keep working hard guys! I hope we all succeed and match!

Hello!

I just took UWSA and scored 247...my exam is on the 19th July I have scored low in surgery and pediatrics. Right now, I am revising UW second time and reading MTB 2 and 3. I thought also to read surgery from FA, but I couldn't find it in FA.

What do you think it is the best method to improve my score?

Thank you and good luck everybody! Stay motivated until the end!

Thank you! I don't think UWSA was harder than UW Q Bank. Maybe some questions were a bit twisted, but if you pay attention to every information, you will find the answer. I had the same anxiety before taking it! Don't worry! Just revise some UW before doing it....good luck!

what counts is not your UW bank average but rather if you are getting the concepts from the explanations. use it as a learning tool that's it! UWSA and NBME will tell you how much you know.

Keep hammering MTB and UW and you will be fine. myself is getting 57% after completing 40% of the Bank.

Finished my rheumatology review today, ugh i cant believe how many notes i had to read through today!

Kaplan Qbank is TOUGH! lol did three blocks, 67, 64, and 50. I have no idea what happened in that third block but oh well. So far in uworld second time through getting an average of 74-85 % right. Not bad but still room for improvement, tomorrow i do hematology
