Correct Answer Starting my preparation!

Hi,
I'm gonna start my prep tomorrow. For now, i have the kaplan lecture notes for step-2CK and some kaplan videos.
My plan:

Finish all Kaplan lecture notes with videos (where available)
Do Uworld for step-2ck
Do NBME CCSSA
Revise crammable and doubtful concepts before the exam
Go for the exam.

WHat do you think? Is it good or does it need any major changes?
Please let me know.

Your plan is almost identical to mine.
By the way, are you using any other source such as FA, secrets??

Let's work hard and ace CK!!!

Thumbs Up Nice!

@jerry:
I've noticed in these forums that FA is not needed for step 2 CK, (but if i have time, i will go through it). Looks like we're going exactly parallel with respect to steps and score delays and even step-1 scores!!!!!!!!!
Wish us all the best!!!!!!!!!!!

btw, when u planning to take step 2ck?

oh n one more thing, the material for step 2 seems a lesser than step 1. is that real or are some books missing? FA not really needed? i know i was looking through FA step 2 n i noticed i had some questions in my step 1 exam. .. weird huh? if i knew i wouldve read step 2 FA briefly too. oh well..

are there any other materials guys? UW, kaplan qbank n NBME enough? what about qbooks? are u guys using any?

Thumbs Up @Seetal:

All the best for your score!

I'm planning to start with surgery and do the crammable subs like psychiatry and OBgyn in the end. I found the videos too but they look very old....year 2001 i think with video 5/10 and audio 6/10 quality, newer vids can't be found. PM me for details.

With regard to FA, i will try to go through if time permits. I have till august 2011 but i need to concentrate on material and questions. Many people recommend kaplan Qbank and Uworld and there's a poll that says almost both are equal, but for step-1, Uworld was gold standard, so i'm gonna stick to uworld only. I will do kaplan Qbook also (just for practice) so that i will get adapted to answering fast on the exam (time will be a factor in step-2ck because of the lengthy questions)
Nobody recommends Qbook cuz they say that it's not a real representation of the real exam, but i want to do it just for practice cuz i have time.

Please add in any recommendations or major changes in my plan.
Wish you best of luck in prepping for step-2ck

i was thinking on spending 10 months. 7 monhts studying (3 times each subject) n 3 months questions (the first month NMS qbook n FA q book for int.med n obgyn), then 2 months UW n Kaplan with some NBME in between.

but usmle guy, ur nbme spoke for itself. u;re getting a 99 for sure. so start studying.

Yep. Let's both ace step 2 CK as well as the rest of the USMLEs!!!
I'm taking it slow at the moment. I want to plan my step 2 study along with my rotations. I'm starting OBGYN rotation so that's what I'll study first. I'll see how it goes!
What about you? when are you planning to take the beast?
@ Seetal: well done on finishing step 1!! Good luck on the score!!! Let's push each other for excellence!

Cheers!!

Yeah I'm thinking about taking it around that time as well. Give or take a couple of months.
