Question Do we need Tanner Staging for the CK Exam?

Learning the tanners staging in detail is proving to be near impossible!

Is it necessary to know it for the CK exam?

You need not memorize the whole staging as such. I'm done with CK and my experience is its usually a part of the question stem description.
usually there is more information in the stem to come to a conclusion. goodluck
