Show Teeth The best step 2 CK prep plan for Non-step 1 takers

Hi guys,
I was planning to take step 1 on my internship year and when time came I've unfortunately discovered my school is not giving me the opportunity to preparing for the basic sciences, giving me all these rounds to finish with clinical shelf exams, and one final graduation exam that comprises the clinical subjects ....So I have decided to Gamble with the Step 2. First, I'm confident of my knowledge in basic sciences, though not enough to ace the step 1 at the moment, but it'd help with the step 2. I first took the sample exam from USMLE.ORG to help me decide, and got a 47% in all blocks ( I got 62 right out of 131) this being solely dependent on my general medical knowledge? Is this good enough at the current state??? You tell me guys.
Here is my step 2 prep plan:
Books: Kaplan lecture notes 08-09, MTB2&3, Step up to medicine, NMS IM casebook ( helps with management ), NMS surgery ( quick reference) Nms peds ( quick reference ), and the FA ( step 1) to review the systems for high yield basic sciences since I haven't done the step 1.
Videos: Kaplan step 2 videos, and Kaplan pharm videos and microbiology videos from step 1.
Q bank: Kaplan Q bank during my step prep for the first 6 months, and then UW for the review in the last 4 months. NBMEs in the final month of my prep.
MY plan: I plan to take the exam on May next year, a month before my graduation exam. I Plan to do my first read from July to December ( 6 months ), and review from January to April next year ( with the UW & NBMEs). For someone who hasn't done the Step 1 and plans to get a decent score, taking this long is the best possible way to bring about a good outcome.

Please chime in and give me some ideas, I'd profoundly appreciate any suggestions.

i think you are using too many books
it looks lke you will be using all the available books
My suggestion narrow down your books
though you have 1 full year but i think you should use
those many books which you can revise in the end
i have used SU2M and its a wonderful book
none of the questions in IM that i see are not out of that book
kaplan gynae and peds are good specially gynae videos.peds videos suck
I would suggest that you go over step 1 FA for the subjects you mentioned
no need to do step 1 videos

@Galaxy thanks for the advice, I'll narrow down my books to:
Step up to medicine+ MTBs for internal medicine
MTB 2ck & 3 + Dr. pestana's surgery notes+ Kaplan for surgery
MTB 3+ Kaplan notes for OB/GYN
MTB 3+ Kaplan notes for Peds
Kaplan notes + MTB 2ck & MTB for psyche
Kaplan step 1 videos + BRS behavioral sciences + USMLE medical ethics for epidemiology and ethics.

How does that sound?

My plan was originally alike, I ended up with MTB 2 and 3 as my main books (like FA for step 1 if you like).
I intended to use Lange's Case Files, but they are proving to be less accesible than expected, great books but in this limited time I found I needed to already master a topic before getting something out of those.

There are some absent topics in MTB (neuromuscular injuries, lysosomal storage diseases, biostatistics, many more) but checking all FA step 1 feels too monstruos a review. The time is on your side I guess.
For your review, remember that step 2ck questions are about:
- most likely diagnosis
- best next step
- best initial / most accurate / most appropriate diagnostic test
- best initial therapy / therapy
- some UWolrd Q's are also about etiology
And keep the bulk of books for quick reference on selected topics

Dr Pestana surgery notes and kaplan surgery book is one and the same thing
Now you are all set
Do remember to do a Q bank side by side
it will help to consolidate the knowledge and then u can do UW when u have like 2-3 months for your exam
Good Luck!!!
