Question Number of Questions Per Block in the CK Exam

I think number of questions per block have changed from July 1, 2013 because the official website posted that
" As a reminder, there will be 42-44 questions in each block " . So, previously there were 28 questions in last block on some exams but nowadays number of questions will be 42-44 in every block. Do u guys think exam will harder than ever before?
Please discuss...!

It was very similar to the U world question bank in diffuicluty level. Or even easier. Also it was not as hard as UWSA. But the difficulty level can vary randomly from individual to indivodual. I read First aid for CK 2 days before the exam and I had 2 questions from it. In my opinion, the exam was relatively easier than NMBE 3. Thats the only NBME I did. My advise is to be thorough with U World and also do as many CK books as possible to cover a wide area. Also read the most basic concepts related to pathophysiology from first aid step 1
about 3 days before the exam. Time management should also be done wisely. I diddnt have enough time to finish the blocks. MTB is a must read, but its details are very vague since I read it a long time ago.Hope this helps.

I've taken my exam in July
I got 44, 43, 45, 45, 45, 45, 44, 32

so still there is less than 42 Q

UW is a great source, most of UW Q are hard and need extra thinking,
while the real exam you will have some easy Q that help you with the time.

Still there is vague and hard Q on the exam.

Does not really matter it's 42-44 or 28. Just give your best effort.

My last block was 28 questions. Taken in July.

Its difficult to list individually beacuse they are so random. But, I covered everything in around 4 hours. For example, in DIC you get schistocytes. In lead poisoning you get basophillic stippling. I diddnt cover biochemistry that much except for the galactosemia and fructosemia topics. And the glycogen storage and the phospholipid disorders. The drugs side effects, they are the most important. Just try to cover what you think they can ask in a CK exam. It will be around 5% of the FA step 1 book.

And also what I meant by the exam difficulty will change is that for each exam, a different set of questions will be given, so the difficulty may vary.

Im anxious about how I have done in the exam. Hoping to get the results in 3 weeks time.

Everyone, make sure that you highlight First aid for CK so that you can read the highlighted topics 2 days before the exam.

USA.

The whole experience is kind of similar to what you would expect from the Free 150 questions.

Do not pay much attention to the number of questions before hand. Just do your best.

The questions are lengthy and easy. At least most of them.
