Listening Do the Pre-test books help?

I checked the pre-test books for the CK, especially IM and Surgery. Some of questions seem Challenging and are linked to the basics sciences. Does anyone of you think the Pre-tests are a good addition to the CK prep? Did anyone use them and were they useful?

Used them for peds. they are good for info building
but the questions are too direct
and are recall questions not mle type
case files are better.

I saw that the Pre-test books ask a lot of questions testing the basics in relation to the clinical concept. Do you think they're helpful in covering a certain aspect of the CK exam? Since it surprises people with questions outside the MTBs and UW.

yes ofcourse
for information make notes
dont just do the questions
i would do the questions
and read the answers and explanations
even for the ones i got right
very useful
case files are huge but
cover common clinical scenarios
if u can do both pretest and case files.
