Default Last nerve

This waiting is killing me. I don't know what to expect. I hope for the best, but you never know what will be in the "bag": pass or fail. And the thing is, that the outcome does not depend on my worries about it or on people telling me that "everything will be OK". We will only find out when we open that PDF file.

just checked the ECFMG website, the delays will be only for those who took the exam during july and august. since most of those who r in this thread took it in June then enshalla there should be no delays beyond this Wednesday

Means that you have already sat for the exam. That does not imply that a candidate pass or fail. That only means that a candidate has to wait for the result and based on that result, if he/she failed, he/she will be able to apply for the same step again.

I just heard that when you sit for the exam, the scheduling permit link still there but if you click on it, it says "Application error: Permit is not available. The candidate may have sat for the exam or the registration is no longer active". On the other hand when your results are ready to be released on the following Wednesday, the scheduling permit link is gone so you can not even see the link on IWA page. not sure if it's reliable info though

@JAYATI: I think you will get your result next week. Because I had my test on 19th and haven't had the result yet. So, since you took it exactly one week after me I guess you wont get it this week. But anyway, wish you luck ...

Default This wait is a torture.

21-st century, computer based exam, and still takes such long for the results to be out, as if they calculate the scores with a pen and a paper.

i guess the results are available the same minute u finish the last question in the last block. the delay is probably coz of the random double check they do. there is a fixed random percent of applicants whom are re-checked via the video cameras and stuff...i guess this is a good reason for delay

So, you sat for your exam on the 17th of June and no result yet? May be you are right. May be they are re-checking as you said, and may be you are in that "fixed random percent of applicants whom are re-checked via the video cameras and stuff". But I wish nobody gets into that percent though. Wish all of us good-luck (if there is any luck on that exam).

It seems the scores are being released the 4th wed instead of the 3rd. At least, it's been that way since july3rd. I took it the 28th of June and was hoping they'd be released tomorrow but that seems unlikely. Good luck to all getting scores tomorrow!!!!

Default June 26th exam

Took exam June 26th. Was hoping to find out my score tomorrow. Schedule permit link still available. When link is clicked, get this message --> "Application error: Permit is not available. The candidate may have sat for the exam or the registration is no longer active." Hopefully I get email tomorrow concerning my score release! Good luck everyone!:sorry::sorry:

Default Nervous :(

Hey, I took the Step 2 CK on June 25th and waiting for the results. I found it to be very hard and I'm really praying that I pass it.

I tried the OASIS trick just now and it keeps saying that "You have already registered or sat for this exam ..." and won't let me go further. Does this mean anything??

I'm so worried

Seems that 4th Wednesday results are out, but third Wednesday people haven't got any thing yet , does this means that we will get result after 1 week or we should wait some time more to expect our results today ??

Are you kidding? BE HAPPY! Congratulations!!!
They changed this exam, and now it is very difficult to even pass it. And that all because previous canditates who took this step in the past, when it was really easier than now, bragged about it, said "it was a peace of cake". So, NBME people read all that posts on forums, and then they said:"Really? A piece of cake? OK. We will show you "Apiece of cake" and made it very difficult now. And it affected us, those who are taking it now, and not them., who took it in the past.

So, be happy! again, Congrats!!!

The exam has never been easy, Only people with good scores brag but the reality is the minority get good scores, I took the exam last november right after they increased the difficulty and added weird stuff, this year the only thing they did is increase the passing score, they will check the content starting in 2 weeks, so dont come here saying people who took the exam in the past had it easier because NO one will ever have any of these exams easy.

As someone mentioned, if your permit link is gone (like totally disappeared), there is a chance that you will get your results in the following Wednesday. Most likely the "link trick" would occur on a Monday or Tuesday. - NOT 100% sure though, just a common suggestion.

I can feel your pain. Sorry for hurting your feeling. I did not mean it, because i did not address my post directly to you, the too sensitive person. And who took an easier step 2CK than we did. Sorry.

So, you took the exam last November and you are still here on this website/post/thread. So, you failed it. The fact that you failed your step 2 CK does not mean it was not easy at that time. Because it was easier comparing to now. In your case, it means you were not prepared enough and that's why you failed it. So don't come here to unleash your anger onto other people.

Im on this Forum because I like to help intelligent, rational people.

Im already ECFMG certified and I got a 257 on my step 2 CK score.

I didnt messed with you and you addressed the post to the thousands of people that have taken this step before you, myself included, therefore indirectly you addressed your post toward me. I wont agree with a overly ignorant generalization of an exam just because you are a complainer and cant take exams with the seriousness they deserve, and also because you lie saying the exam is harder now than last year or the year before.

Seeing how you make wrong assumptions all the time I wont lose my time with somebody that doesnt contribute anything to this great forum, I will better spent my time debating with people that deserve it. Peace out

vishwareddy Congratulations on your amazing score!

XpaezX man you have contributed a lot to this forum and we are thankful for that! Comments like those by 8ernity should not bother you! However, I think the exam is getting tougher according to the recent exam takers but the scoring curve is unaffected. I personally know many guys who came out of this exam devastated and clueless and trust me they are not whiners! I believe it is getting more vague and lengthier which effs up the time management and raises the level of anxiety and thus, can be construed as more difficult although the content and the scoring curve might be the same. A good student/a good exam taker is still gonna ace this exam but the weak of heart might not

8ernity dude that was one amazing assumption! you could have easily checked XpaezX's results before commenting specially when you are expecting your own results. Hypothetically saying, even if the guy had failed, that was not a good way to lash out at someone who flunked and was broke. We try to encourage ppl at this forum and stay away from such things!

It's a competitive score but scores are only one part of your application, they can't guarantee you a residency position. You need to work on other parts of your application too like LOR's/USCE, research , especially to get into a difficult speciality like Pathology.

It's good enuff I think. I have a friend who got into Path residency this year and he had 230 on Step 1 and 240 on Step 2. But what's also important is if you have done a path elective rotation and made some connections or got some great letters.

Dude you can check profiles! you can see the threads created by people and their posts everything. So next time you plan on telling someone that they failed the test like XpaezX, check a few things out. You can find this guys preparation outline, his exam experience and everything!

Dude, some people post lies here. They can post what they want. So, I don't trust those. I only will believe such people if I actually see the original (not online) of their score transcript. Even though I believe the majority of people here are honest and tell the truth about their scores, there are still some who are trolling here and post lies about their "cosmic" scores. Dude.

Its not a place to pick on anyone in here.
If you came to help out and get help - this is the right place,
if not - you should leave.

XpaezX did pass the test and did a very great job on it, that a very few of us can do.

I am an IMG but I have been doing research for 2 years now in UCSF and have very good LORs. I hope I can get into path. I don't like any other specialty ...

I think 2 years worth of research at UCSF should just about carry you over the line...... if you had been applying to a program that accepts only Mensa high IQ society members with 180+ IQ scores I mean come on!! that is a pretty good resume you've got there from what I can understand. What is your YOG and visa status? To be honest i've heard about people with much lower scores (in the 220s) get accepted into Ivy league university programs with that kind of research background. I don't think you need to worry about anything right now, just focus on your application!

Thank you so much for your respond. It is really relieving. I graduated at 2008 from a 7 years medical scool. I mean I spent 24 month externship and 18 months internship as well. And my visa is J1. Its valid till November 2014. So I need the program to sponsoring me too. I also have 2 years experience working as an emergency ward physician in my country.

Hmmm... So you are still within 5 years of graduation and already on a J-1 in US... How can a program sponsor you btw? Arent you only allowed another J-1 on top of the one u have... In any case i think you have a pretty bright chance. Best of Luck for the match!

Yeah, I only need them to change my J1 to a new J1 or H1 appointment. Because I already have spent 2 years of total 5 years of J1 status under UCSF sponsership, so I need to start a fresh appointment.
