Default Some confusing pts

OCP's dec benign breast conditions but inc risk of br ca.
OCP's inc triglycerides and Na,H20 retention worsening HTN but don't cause Wt gain.!
OCP's leads to anovulation so irregular cycles and amenorhea. But used for irregular cycles to make them regular..!?
In case of Chronic amenorrhea due to OCP use,no need to stop ocps but increasing estrogen dose wud be suffice..? How..?

Yeah there are lot of obscure mechanisms of OCPs

Progesterone in OCPs is responsible for increased LDL decreased HDL
Estrogen increases angiotensinogen synthesis which probably is responsible for increased Na and water retention and probably the same Na escape mechanism applies here too which prevents edema formation

I have had this same question numerous times, all books and qbanks link hepatic adenoma to OCP's they never mention it with Depo-Provera or progesterone only compounds, dont worry about this they wont ask it like that
