Medicolegal and Ethics 14-yr-old pregnant wants abortion

A 14 year old girl presents to your clinic. she is 12 weeks pregnant and would like to have an abortion. she doesn't want you to notify the father of he baby. what should be your response?
a) you are too far along,so i can't in good faith encourage you to get an abortion
b) i can refer u to a specialist but will need consent from ur husband as well
c) i can refer u to a specialist and if u want me to maintain confidentiality from your husband,i will
d) abortions have a lot of risk- let me give u some info to read through and if ur still interested we can discuss this with confidentiality.

I am a little confused between c and d..

I believe "Option D" is the answer.

In the USMLE, everything that says DISCUSS, Encourage, Offer etc etc is the correct answer.

You never refer a patient because the USMLE wants you to handle things yourself, therefore the only correct answer is D

The qbank is wrong, the answer is D in the USMLE, dont put C, as I said, you never refer, also patients that are pregnant are emancipated minors and can make decisions regarding specific health situations including:, abortion, STD, drug abuse or Oral contraception, for these you dont need parental permission even if the minor is not emancipated.

Delicate situations like these are always better handled with throughout discussion and information for the patient.

D) because you just need to inform her, you don't have the right to do something without giving first the necessary information, asking what paitent knows about the problem, then if she will insist on after being aware of every porblem connected with it, doctor should proceed, but again, he should encourage the patient to discuss the problem with the partner, though she has to do what she wants with her body without asking permission as she is emancipated minor=pregnancy.
