If you have the extra time, the book won't hurt. I finished most of the book but didn't find it as benificial as for step one. With that said, I found it useful to help remember those key concepts that are needed for solving more difficult problems. I think it's ok to supplement with your other qbanks if you have the extra time. Good luck with the exam, study hard and efficiently and you will do great.

I was using FA for CK and for step 1 as well. And also I recommend you go through goljan path on yur weak areas.
MTB2'3 simply not enough.
Also, pay attention on ECG on UW.
Best,

Ive heard ppl say b4 that Goljan path was an overkill for step1, but is ok for step 2 (his audios though are not as crucial as for step 1...)

Id defenitely go through his pics in path book!

FA is not as great as for step 1

I felt like MTB was ok, but very non-specific to the real questions...

I think the best book "FA-like" is step up

Default if it is your first step

I strongly recommend that you use kaplan books to build a base at first . Simultaneously try to add missing information from each subject to MTB 2 ( for IM) & MTB 3 ( for other subjects). FA for CK is useful in pediatrics and some tables and diagrams. The most important step is to start solving Qs after finishing your 2nd or 3rd reading , start by Kaplan Q bank - if you are doing well - 70% using random timed mode . start UW & try to add notes again to your final source which will be MTB. Revise MTB ( after all additions) . Do NBME 2 - stress on the subjects where your performance wasn't high. finally do NBME 4 . Goodluck:

I wouldn't say it's garbage, I think it's a pretty good book. It was the only book I used for CK and for Step 1 for that matter. I only had 7 weeks to study, so time was a big factor for me, if I had more time it's possible I would have used other books. I guess really it depends on your time commitment and you target score.
