whats the next best step?
a.KUB XRay film
b. USG

Even in an emergency an ultrasound is faster than a KUB. Also KUB has a high false negative rate.

explanation only mentioned Xray shows upto 90% of stones

Next best step if an analgesic is available? Pick PAIN control.

NExt best step between Sonography, CT scan or KUB? CT scan (It sees ALL OF THE STONES; including Uric acid stones (which are not seen by KUB)

Between KUB and USG depends really, because 85% of renal stones are radioopaque, and KUB doesnt really need the "expertise" of the guy performing the study compared with USG, which has an inherent bias.

Probably KUB because its cheaper?
