Kids Kaplan Pediatrics Sucks!

Hey I was just starting peds and was wondering how to go about this?
Kaplan CK Lecture Notes are really long and I was wondering if it is necessary? The videos are also not very good. I finished step 1 about 2ish months ago. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Kaplan LN are bombdizzle for peds... you just have to read it. I've studied peds least but consistently score the highest on it just because of that book.

Every single thing in peds is in there.

Thanks for the response! Ugh alright... How long did it take you to read it? I have about 8 days for peds. I usually like everything in one book so I want to put everything from the LN to MTB3 how long do you think I should keep for this?

If you're dedicating a whole day, probably about 4-6 days. It's definitely worth it though!

Even though many people on forum will advice you that Kaplan for peds is useless and MTb 3 should b okay , personally speaking I think Kaplan is very good for peds.. It is difficult to read at first and you might feel like switching to other resource but trust me no book for ck is complete in itself except Kaplan peds, obsgyn and surgery..

Yeah I'm doing obgyn videos only cause i heard its the same thing. For surgery I did MOST of Kaplan .. Skipped the stuff that overlapped with medicine like endocrine disorders etc and for peds now I guess I will do all of the LN. For IM I'm doing Conrad's videos plus mtb 2 and 3. What do you think?

That's a pretty good approach.. Don't get confused with the no of study resources available.. You would do fine.. Add uworld to it and you are good to go

Agreed completely. It's very difficult at first, but when done with UWorld it turns out to be amazing!

yeah..i regret not reading it in the beginning of my preparation..when you have a study resource which is complete in itself (even if overdetailed you can always leave out that information) why go for books which are high rated but deficient and you have to add so much to them from UW and in the end they are barely readable..
