Rheumatology/Orthopedics Arthrocentesis showed no Gram stain

What to we do when we suspect septic arthritis but the arthrocentesis shows no gram stain?
Do we culture for bacteria? Or having no gram stain is basically telling you that bacteria is not the cause?
