best initial is gastrin levels >1000 and if you don't find anything then you do the secretin and calcium studies but always check for achlorhydria to make sure the increased levels are not due to that

best initial test is gastrin levels, be sure that patient is off the ppi's or not suffering from achlorhydria, which secondarily will cause raised gastrin levels. and most accurate test will be secretin stimulation test, normally giving secretin will decrease the gastrin levels, but in ZES giving secretin will paradoxically raise the gastrin levels.
