Help Failed CK need advice

So.. I need some good advice...

Unfortunately, I received my CK results a week back and I failed miserably. It's been about a week now and i've gotten over the depression but now I need to come up with a game plan. I need some advice weather i'm going to be competitive for either I.M. or Family? and what score do you think I'll need on CK, in order to match... I really don't know where I stand and how competitive I am at this point. Check out my profile and let me know what you think...

IMG - Ross -- U.S. citizen
Step 1 (1st attempt) - 211
Step 2 - failed
CS - Passed 1st attempt
B.S. GPA - about 3.2
Cum GPA - 3.3
Clinical grades - all A's and B's (but mostly B's)
3 solid LOR's - i read them all - 1 family, 2 I.M.
MSPE - no negative comments

Another problem is, I've already applied this year and I really don't know if I should try to retake the exam soon and try to match 14... or should I pull out and wait til 15..?

Please share your advice.. it is much needed at this point..

I think you already know the answer to your residency question. Applying this year doesn't seem feasible.

But lets feed into the fantasy. Lets say you suddenly found a way to do better on CK by 20 points and you wrote your exam on October 15...your CK results wont arrive until mid-November. By that point residency directors have already selected a lot of people for interviews. So at that point your application is way behind the pack. Even with fantasy on your side this doesn't work well for you for match.

Short answer:
Take time off. Relax. Investigate what you need to do to improve and what was lacking in your study plan. Look at your evaluation sheet and see what topics you need to focus on.

Most important, don't rush this. Take your time to make sure you completely understand all concepts and only take the exam when u are 100% absolutely ready. There is no more room for error. Also take it when you are scoring exceptionally higher than average on your NBME self assessment.

Btw, How did you score on NBME self assessments?

Anyway good luck. Only a few people are strong enough to pick up the pieces after an experience like this and keep jugging forward. Also when you do score amazing and match on 2015, please post your experience here so other folks who are in your same shoes would be inspired to push forward.
