Question how to differentiate between SCID and congenital HIV infants ??

how can we differentiate between sever combined immunodeficiency and HIV infants in a case ???

This is just what I think the answer is... Clinically, infants with AIDS would only have T-cell deficiency symptoms; like infection with PCP and viruses etc. Infacnts with SCID would have B-cell deficiency symptoms too; like sinopulmonary infections.
Plus, in infants with AIDS there would be maternal history of either immunodeificiency or IV drug abuse etc.
If it is asked about some Lab investigation, we can do ELISA for screening and Western blot for confirmation
