Info IM step 2 prep

hello every 1

i have started my IM prep 2 days ago with cardiology.
i started off with mtb step 2 ck reading the complete section and now i am watching the kaplan videos.

wat i found real surprising is that, mtb step 2 ck is so simply written and very easy to retain..
i wanted to know from all of u is that if mtb step 2 ck for im enough or kaplan lecture notes is a must?

new to step 2 prep so please help me guys..
thanks

Correct Answer

Hello, I think you could just read MTB2 and then do a lot of questions, but if I were you I would read cardiology in lecture notes and then MTB2, reading more never is going to hurt your final score.

I strongly recommend you to read Secrets for the Step 2, I think is a great book and it will help you to retain some pearls for your exam.

I am currently in the last process of the study for Step 2 CK exam, doing uworld questions, anything else I can help you let me know.

thanks for the advice..
true reading more is gonna be an advantage at the end of the day..
but relying on mtb for the end of prep is advisable?
i guess 1 read of mtb alongside kaplan and doing q bank will tell me where i stand..
how long have u been preparing? done with step 1?

Well I think it is advisable if you dont have enough time, personally I read Lecture Notes for IM then MTB, and then I add some LN content on MTB. Then I did Kaplan questions and currently I am doing uworld questions.

I have been preparing for 6 months, I am currently working full time so it is more complicated to dedicate enough time to studying. I am done with step 1 (april 2013).
