Help Adverse effect of hydralazine

Anyone can help me elucidate the mechanism why using nitrates with hydralazine can prevent "stolen" of coronary artery blood from happening?

Thanks!

My understanding is that hydralazine can cause, not prevent, coronary steal, and i cant see any way that nitrates would prevent this (if anything their mild coronary vasodilatory effect should worsen it). Where did you read it?

the same thing here , as far for my knowledge the can substitute ACEi if used together , but I am not sure they have relation to coronary steal syndrome

It is written on page 59 in MTB2. It is said " Hydralazine should be used in association with nitrates to dilate the coronary arteries so that blood is not 'stolen' away from coronary perfusion when afterload is decreased with the use of hydralazine."
